Which method should you use?
The direct connection is the better default: you pick pages from your live workspace and pull the current version every time you rebuild a bundle. The Markdown export is the faster one-off, and the only option if you cannot create a connection in your workspace, which is common when an admin restricts them.

The connection route
Create a connection in Notion under Settings, then Developer tools, then Connections. Copy its Internal Integration Secret, grant it your pages in the Content Access tab, and paste the secret into Riflet. About five minutes, no code.

The Markdown export route
In Notion, select the pages or database you want, open the three-dot menu, choose "Export", and pick "Markdown & CSV". Unzip the result and open the folder in Riflet. Your pages arrive with their original hierarchy, so you select the ones you need and export as usual.
No token, no permissions, no configuration. This route also works for a workspace you have left or an archive somebody sent you, and it is the fallback when an admin has restricted connections.
What Riflet reads from your workspace
On a direct connection, Riflet lists every page and database the connection has been granted, and rebuilds your workspace hierarchy so the tree matches what you see in Notion. Page content comes through as Markdown with headings, lists, and tables intact, and each page is labelled with its path so the AI can tell your PRD from your meeting notes. You can connect more than one workspace and switch between them.
Combine Notion with other sources
Most teams do not keep everything in Notion. You likely have local documents, code in GitHub, design specs in Google Docs, and research in PDFs. Where your Notion data goes
Nowhere except your own machine and Notion. Your connection token is encrypted with a key held by your operating system, in the macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, or your Linux password store. Page content is fetched straight from Notion's API to your computer, and bundling happens locally. Riflet operates no servers that see your token or your pages. The only time your content leaves your machine is when you choose to paste it into an AI chat.
